Southwestern Wrought Iron Entry Door With Cactus and Snake Design
Overview
Design of a black front door with design for southwestern homes.
Description
The door is a dark, possibly black, wrought iron construction. It consists of a central, larger door flanked by two narrower sidelights. The central door and sidelights feature a stylized, repeating design of cacti and snakes intertwined, rendered in raised relief. The door frame is also dark and matches the door in color. Above the door is a dark, projecting rectangular hood with decorative scalloped edging on its lower face. The building facade is stucco, colored in a light terracotta or peach hue. Above the doorframe, embedded horizontally into the stucco, are four cylindrical wooden beams, evenly spaced. The ground in front of the door is covered in small reddish-brown gravel, with stepping stones leading to the doorway. To either side of the entrance are large terracotta pots featuring geometric designs, each containing desert plants. The architectural style is reminiscent of Southwestern or Santa Fe design.
