Mahogany Front Door With Frosted Sidelights, Dark Frame, and Lit Canopy
Overview
Design of a Virginia single with minimalist design for mid-century modern homes. With rustic brown.
Description
The door is a dark wood, likely stained mahogany or a similar hardwood, with a rectangular design. It features a central paneled section composed of six rectangular glass panes separated by wood mullions. Below the glass panes is a solid wood panel with a horizontal brass or bronze kickplate. The door is flanked on either side by vertical sidelights, each containing a single, full-height rectangular pane of frosted or obscured glass. The door and sidelights are set within a dark-colored, likely black, wood frame. Above the door and sidelights is a flat, cantilevered canopy or awning, also dark-colored. The canopy is supported by vertical posts on either side, which appear to be constructed of the same dark wood as the door frame. Recessed spotlights are integrated into the underside of the canopy. The entryway is set into a brick facade, appearing to be dark red or brown brick with dark mortar. Two sconce-style light fixtures, one on each side of the door, are mounted on the brick wall. The entryway is accessed by a set of stone steps, with integrated lighting illuminating the risers. Four small, rounded shrubs are planted in square planters along the base of the steps. The ground surrounding the steps is covered in light-colored gravel or pebbles.
