Elegant Leaded Glass Double Front Door With Arched Transom Window
Overview
Design of a North Carolina arched single with partial scroll design for georgian homes. With weathered copper.
Description
The door is a dark wood, likely mahogany or a similar hardwood with a rich, warm brown stain. It is a double door system with a central, larger door flanked by two narrower sidelights. The main door has a slightly arched top with a vertical rectangular glass panel in the upper half, detailed with leaded glass in a geometric pattern. The sidelights are also rectangular with similar leaded glass designs, including diamond shapes. Above the door and sidelights is a large, arched transom window, also with leaded glass in a radiating fan-like pattern with a central floral or medallion design. The door frame is trimmed with a wide, white painted architrave that follows the curve of the transom and is supported by white, fluted pilasters on either side of the door. The door hardware, including the handle and lock, is a dark, likely oil-rubbed bronze or black finish. The architectural style is traditional, possibly Georgian or Colonial Revival. The door is set into a brick facade with a small porch or landing made of light-colored stone or tile. Two black, lantern-style light fixtures are mounted on the brick wall on either side of the door.
